Japanese language courses
We support Japanese language Learning of international students and researchers.
We offer a Japanese language program for international students and researchers at the University of Toyama.
The program begins in both April and October.
There are three levels of classes: elementary, intermediate, and advanced.
If you are not enrolled at the University of Toyama, you can take Japanese language classes (Extracurricular Japanese language program) in the “Open Class”.

Course you can register depends on your status at the University of Toyama.

OIEE offers 3 Japanese language courses in Gofuku Campus.
Intensive Japanese Course
This is intensive Japanese language program for the government scholarship international students.
The course begins in both April and October at the levels of introductory class (for those who have never learned Japanese) and intermediate class (for those who have learned Japanese to some extent).
Extra-curricular Japanese language program
We offer a Japanese language program for international students and researchers enrolled at the University of Toyama. There are three levels of classes: elementary, intermediate, and advanced. Course begins in April and October at all levels from elementary to advanced Japanese.
We don’t issue any official transcript in course.
General Japanese Language Course
This is for Nikkensei (international students enrolled in the Japanese Language and Culture Studies Course) and short-term exchange students.
Students can take subjects related to Japanese language and culture (elementary, intermediate, and advanced Japanese) during each of the autumn and spring semesters. We can issue transcript (grades of registered classes, no credit).
Japanese language program
